Councillors plan meeting over Harrow Post Office

Local authority wants a resolution to the problem.

A delegation from Harrow Council is to meet Royal Mail representatives to discuss the closure of the South Harrow Post Office.

The franchise branch shut down in October with store owner Kaushik Shah and Royal Mail blaming each other for the closure, the Harrow Observer reports.

It has meant that locals have either had to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs or travel to Harrow town centre.

Council representatives are set to discuss the issue with external relations managers at Royal Mail on January 8th following the passing of a cross-party motion to arrange this appointment was passed by the local authority.

Wealden MP Charles Hendry recently claimed that the new location for the Crowborough Post Office will be inconvenient for many residents in the area.

He told that the current site at Fernbank Shopping Centre is easier for people to access than the site at Beacon House in Croft Road.
